Me & The Bean

If this is the first image that comes up on google when you search for Me & The Bean, we’ve got a lot of work to do.  The Bean is finished with her semester and we went to the beach for vacation last week.  We came back a day early to insure that we would be able to record a show before I went back to work and Max decided that he wasn’t going to go to bed until midnight.  Best laid plans…

I got the mics and everything set up just in case we got the time to do it this week.  Monday everything worked out, but I wasn’t feeling it.  At about midnight, after several hours of unsuccessful sleep attempts, I was ready to go and the Bean was heading to bed.  Tuesday, Max decided to cling to the maximum before finally giving it up and going to sleep.  Last night, the Bean’s friend from LA, and her adorable 4-month-old girl, stayed with us.

We are determined to do a show tonight, so hopefully it will be up by the weekend.  Thanks again guys for your continued patience.  I promise, once we get going, the schedule will be consistent.

It’s funny that with all the letters in the alphabet and numbers (0-9), Max would lose all of the letters and numbers, except these three and that he would arrange them this way.  I guess this will be funnier to long-time listeners of the show. Anyway…

Sorry for the delay in getting a show up.  Don’t worry, it is happening.  The Bean is on her last week of the semester.  She’s getting her master’s in education.  So without the homework keeping her up until 1am every night, we should be able to record a show.

A lot of you are probably wondering why we left in the first place.  Well there’s many reasons.  One is that I go through phases.  I get so obsessed about something that I devote so much of my life and energy that after a year or so I burn out.  We also had a bizarre string of computer/internet mishaps.  The external hard drive that I stored all of our stuff on (show history, sound effects, intros/outros, etc.) crashed.  A week later our computer was struck by lightning.  I finally got a spare hard drive up and our previous host decided to wipe all of information and we lost the site.

After a month or so, they finally got all of my information back, besides the databases.  That meant that all of the entries I made on the site (the detailed show notes especially) were unrecoverable.  Understandably, I was pretty depressed about this.  So much so, that I unplugged from the internet.  Completely!  I even went months without checking my email.  Sorry to all of those that sent emails after we disappeared.   I didn’t get them until months later.

After going through a few phases, coin magic and poker (for the second time), I missed the internet.  So I got the site back up and posted on the website.  I made the post to get me going and figured that everyone had forgot about us and wouldn’t be checking the site.  Boy, was I wrong.  You guys are awesome.

So here we are and we’re excited to be coming back.  Thanks for your patience.  Once we get going it will be on a regular schedule.
